Insignia Medical Systems, the pioneering UK based Enterprise Imaging provider, is proud to have successfully deployed their next generation, integrated Enterprise Imaging PACS service, at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), a world renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching Trusts in the UK.
Oxford University Hospitals, consists of four hospitals, three in Oxford and one in the north of the county. The Trust, which performs over 500,000 radiology examinations per year, chose Insignia to provide their full suite of PACS products including the class-leading InSight 4D Viewer, regional sharing and advanced home reporting services in March this year.
The migration of over 100TB of historical data is one of the largest ever undertaken in the UK, and took place in just four months using the proven Insignia Migration Service – a truly impressive statistic within Enterprise Imaging.
As part of the deployment, Insignia merged Breast Screening into the main PACS, allowing the sites to be able to view symptomatic and screening imaging in the same application for the first time. Other departments are already planning to transfer their services into Insignia’s Enterprise Imaging system.
The next step for OUH is to enable the sharing service between themselves and their neighboring Trusts using the Insignia Sharing Solution, which will enable them to immediately and automatically view the entire regional patient radiology image record. Shared services and cross-site home reporting will enable ground-breaking service transformation for the NHS throughout the region.
