Three SMEs awarded for national digital tobacco treatment service

NHS England has shared details of a four-year contract awarded to three suppliers for a national digital tobacco treatment service, providing adult smokers in England with access to digital tobacco dependency apps.

The contracts went to three SMEs – Smoke Free, Thrive Tribe and Livewell Southwest – with each reportedly taking £12 million. Smoke Free focuses on providing users with feedback about their progress to support motivation; Thrive Tribe utilises a team of advisors using varying techniques including a tele-programme; and Livewell offers a four-month digital programme including one-on-one coaching.

The contract, which began earlier this year, is set to run until February 2028.
